Acting workshop: the theatre gym exercises to build your acting muscles
Hosted by the talented and energetic Luca Manganelli.
The actor is “the athlete of the heart” as Antoine Artaud used to say. And like all athletes to be able to perform at their best, they need to train. In this training there is no gym, no weights to lift, no bikes to cycle, no treadmill to run. Instead, we play with emotions, with concentration, with words and gestures, above all we stretch our fantasy to get ready to be anything and anyone.
In these evenings we will present a series of simple (and not so simple) exercises to build your theatre gym. These are good also as individual trainings, but we will focus on group exercises useful to build trust, empathy, and coordination in a group of actors. Ideally for people playing together in a cast but not only.
Above all, we will have fun. It’s a night of games, and who does not like to play? That’s what actors do!
Suitable for any level.
